Döner Kebab!

In the 1970s, immigrants from Turkey took with them the Döner Kebab to (the then-West) Berlin. Today there are more döner kebab places in Berlin than there are in Istanbul.. so of course Sandrine had to take me to her favorite neighborhood kebab hang-out. According to her, while there are many kebab places in Berlin, the really good ones are few and far between.

My daughter is probably the most difficult person to please when it comes to food—this is not an overstatement—and I am not easily impressed, either, so there have been many disagreements about food between us—but Nefis Gemüse Kebap proved itself to be a difficult-person-to-please-pleaser, two times.

Perfectly seasoned, tasty meat, fresh salads, with all three sauces—the slightly (this is Germany, after all) spicy red tomato sauce, the delicious garlic sauce, and the cool yoghurt sauce to balance the 2 other strong sauces.

Go, if you find yourself in Berlin one day!
