I❤️Gulyás

I call it “my favorite Hungarian dish of all time,” the goulash. we went to a very traditional, unassuming restaurant outside of Budapest, where no tourists go.

While I can cook this myself, I can never do it the way they do it in Hungary. It was, as I expected, gastronomic heaven.

It is served in individual silver pots like this, and cut pieces of red and green (less hot) peppers under it.

My idea of ecstasy: a bowl of gulyás.

All in one spoon: the soup, tender meat, potatoes, carrots, and my favorite pinched noodles.

Csipetke—Hungarian pinched noodles, egg pasta made into mini-mini dumplings. I love eating these!
